Big Day in Athens

Writers spend nearly all of their creative lives working alone. I also work by lamplight before dawn. If one does it for a lifetime, that's a lot of your life spent in solitary confinement.

But just once in a while, the world you sought with your writing comes to you. Today is one of those days. To my great joy, my alma mater is honoring me with a book party honoring my latest book, It Is Written: My Life in Letters. 

The event is in the Grand Hall of the Russell Special Collections Library at 300 S. Hull Street on the University of Georgia campus in Athens from 5-7 p.m. There will be food and a bar.
